Peptide therapy is becoming more popular in the treatment of many health issues and age-related conditions. It’s also showing promising results in the treatment for biotoxin illnesses like mold sickness, chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS) and Lyme disease. There is one specific peptide that is showing promising results in the treatment of Mold Sickness and Lyme Disease.

How Do Biotoxins Affect The Body?

Biotoxins that cause Mold Sickness and Lyme Disease enter the body a variety of ways – through inhalation, from tick or spider bites, ingestion or by contaminated water. Once they enter the body, they wreck havoc on the immune system and may cause a wide-range of symptoms and chronic health issues like mold sickness, leaky gut syndrome, autoimmune disorders, Rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s, Alzeheimer’s etc. They will also cause chronic inflammation for people that are genetically predisposed biotoxins like mold.

Once these biotoxins are infiltrate the body, it is imperative to eliminate your exposure from these toxins (remediate or move away from the source), remove them from the body (with detoxing and binders), and treat and repair the damage caused from them (supplementation and diet). The latter part is where Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) therapy can help.

VIP is a 28 amino acid regulatory neuropeptide that is produced in many of the body’s tissues - gut, pancreas, and brain. This peptide is important for mold sickness recovery, as it combats inflammation, stimulates growth hormone production, boosts the immune system, supports healthy hormone levels, and so much more. This peptide is typically low in people who have mold sickness or other biotoxin related illnesses.

There are thousands of natural occurring peptides in the body. Each one has its own unique job and tells the cells what to do like fight off an infection, regulate your blood sugar, or affect the speed at which calories are burned. With Peptide Therapy, peptides are produced to mimic our natural peptides. These peptides are administered in the body to treat a specific health concern or issue. They are easily absorbed and only do what they are targeted to do. This makes them extremely safe to use and without any known side effects, aside from possible irritation at the site of administration.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know we live in a
toxic environment these days. The air we breathe, food we eat, water we drink,
personal care products we put on our bodies, and cleaning supplies all have the
potential to contain ingredients that can disrupt our hormones and adversely
affect our health.

Infertility is at a high for men and women now. It is not
uncommon to see hormone levels in young adults normally only seen in the aging
population. Why? Let’s look at some of the things we are exposed to on a daily
basic that are known

          that can change
how our bodies make and metabolize hormones:

          – These are present in
paint, brake fluid, cosmetics, and cleaning products. Studies have linked these
products to infertility, birth defects, lower sperm counts, blood
abnormalities, cancers, asthma, and allergies. Try your best to use “Green”
cleaning agents and cosmetics along with low VOC paints.

          – These chemicals are most prevalent in pesticides and have been
linked to brain abnormalities, neurological disorders, infertility, low testosterone
levels, and thyroid function. They were originally used in chemical warfare
during WWII and if they target insects’ neurological systems you can bet they
can affect ours too! Whenever possible, buy organic, non GMO foods or grow your
own without chemical pesticides!

          – This agent is a poisonous, industrial byproduct found in many foods, personal
care products, and vitamins. It has shown to negatively affect sperm count and
motility, cause immune suppression, contribute to autoimmune disorders, and
possibly cancers. READ LABELS and run away from products containing this
ingredient. Limit your consumption of meats, eggs, fish, and butter unless they
are organic.

          – These nasty chemicals can
affect memory, cognition, and hormone levels. Trace amounts have even been
found in breast milk. PBDEs are used in couches, furniture, bedding, drapes, clothing
and carpeting. Go Green when you can and use HEPA air filters!

          – These chemicals are found in plastics and can cause abnormal hormone
fluctuations, low sperm count and motility, birth defects, even premature cell death
of testicular cells. They have also been linked to thyroid dysfunction,
diabetes, and obesity. Try to stay away from plastic bottles, plastic wraps,
plastic food containers, toys, shampoos, and conditioners with this ingredient.
Even if it says “BPA free” it still can contain other toxic chemicals known to
hinder your health.

             Perchlorate

          – This is a rocket fuel additive found in most milk and produce, according
to the Environmental Working Group. Perchlorate inhibits proper iodine
absorption which can lead to thyroid dysfunction and several other health
conditions. Sea Kelp is an excellent natural source that supports thyroid
function. A high quality water filter can help remove Perchlorate from your
water.

The detoxification process in the body is very import to
help clear these toxins and help keep the body healthy. Glutathione is produced
in the liver and is a key player in this detoxification process. You can Pliposomal form for maximum absorption.

Make sure to drink pure, filtered water and approximately
one half your body weight in ounces daily as your base line. Weekly Epsom salt
baths help with detoxification as well as InfraRed saunas. Eat plenty of green
leafy vegetables to aid in the Methylation process, good fats like olive oil,
avocados, coconut oil, and grass fed organic butter. Keep your meat consumption
low and choose wild, cold water fish in small amounts. Fruits should be limited
to one serving size daily: either 1 orange, 1 apple, or ½ cup berries because of
the high sugar content.

Eat Real Food, not Genetically Modified, packaged, or
processed foods with harmful ingredients and toxic chemicals. If you can’t get
fresh vegetables, frozen organic ones are better than canned. Read the labels,
if you can’t pronounce the ingredient your body won’t know what to do with it
and it’s probably bad for you!

Keep it simple and try to pick foods as close to the
original source they come from. That way your body will benefit most from them.

Well the process doesn’t have to be scary.

There are other ways to Detox beside harsh cathartics and water only fasting. In fact, the body is constantly going through the detox process naturally every day, automatically without your having to even think about it. That’s what it was designed to do to keep you healthy. Unfortunately, the older we get the less efficient the body is at detoxifying so the more help we need. Let’s look at how the body works to detoxify and simple tricks to help assist your body in this natural process.

The skin is the biggest organ in the body.

It allows things you are exposed to to move across the skin barrier and into your body. It also allows toxins inside your body to be excreted through perspiration to get out of your body. Your lungs are another detox organ allowing the air you breathe to enter the body and with each exhalation, toxins and metabolic byproducts are eliminated. Other detox organs include the liver and kidneys which help eliminate toxins, chemicals, medications, and byproducts not needed for energy and system support.

Here are a few simple steps to help your body detox and do what it is designed to do:

             Breathe in Breathe out.

The more stressed and anxious we are the shallower our breathing becomes. This causes carbon dioxide to build up inside the body which can lead to multiple health problems. Try once an hour to sit back, close your eyes for a minute and concentrate on slowly breathing deeply and exhaling fully. (Don’t do this while driving!) The goal is to exhale twice as long as you inhale. This will help your body eliminate carbon dioxide and help detox.

            Drink more water.

Start your day with a glass spiked with fresh lemon juice to help the liver detox. You can even add a little apple cider vinegar to it for an added health benefit. The goal is drinking one half your body weight in ounces of water daily. This is your base-line. If you are perspiring or outside during the day, you will need more. This helps flush out toxins through your kidneys and replace body fluids.

Inside your intestinal tract is a protective lining with openings that allow nutrients from foods to be passed into the blood stream after being digested properly. This lining works as a barrier to prevent large, undigested particles of food getting into the blood stream causing damage to the body.

           What is Leaky Gut?

Leaky gut is when someone has a malfunction in the ability of the tight junctions of the protective lining in the gut to open and close appropriately and thereby allowing large, undigested particles of food to enter the blood stream instead of only the nutrients from the properly digested food. When this happens proteins like gluten, harmful bacteria, toxins, and toxic waste byproducts from bacteria enter the system causing an immune reaction in the body.

Leaky gut can cause food sensitivities, rashes, hives or itching, and eventually lead to autoimmune conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s disease, Hashimotto’s thyroiditis, Lupus, and more. The immune reaction by the body to Leaky gut causes an inflammatory response that can also cause symptoms like bloating, depression and anxiety, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, joint pain, headaches, weight gain, or skin disorders like psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and eczema. Leaky gut can also cause vitamins like zinc, iron, and vitamin B12 to not be absorbed properly.

            Causes of Leaky Gut

The main causes of Leaky Gut include chronic stress, toxin overload, bacterial imbalances, and poor nutrition. Consuming sugar, conventional cow’s milk, gluten, and genetically modified foods cause confusion in the body as it does not recognize these as real foods for human benefit. Once your body has healed from Leaky Gut adding back these foods from time to time may not be harmful or cause problems.

How to Heal from Leaky Gut

To heal from Leaky gut you will need to eliminate damaging foods, replace them with real foods as close to the original state that they come in instead of from a box, packaged, processed, frozen, or canned source. Repair the gut lining with specific supplements known to repair the gut, and repopulate with probiotics to rebalance the ratio of good bacteria to harmful ones.

Important foods to stay away from to heal Leaky Gut: Sugar, grains, GMO foods, hormone laden meats, and conventional dairy products. Also, eliminate tap water, pesticides, over the counter anti-inflammatory medicines like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, and use antibiotics judiciously.
